Oliver Clark account books, 1838-1863.

Clark, a farmer in Granby, Connecticut, used these volumes for keeping credit accounts and memoranda. Of interest are two mentions of being paid with a swarm of bees. He mentioned taking cattle to the Mountain, kept work records, recorded individuals' work on the road, and occasionally mentioned someone digging potatoes or shelling corn.
